SEED Program Celebrates Largest Graduating Class to Date

This month’s graduating SEED class marked an important milestone for the program in more ways than one. With 17 students enrolled, it became the largest SEED class to complete the course to date.

Among the graduates were six students participating through a new partnership with the Central California Asthma Collaborative, which is bringing students from Kern County to enroll in the program.

In addition to classroom instruction, students also gained valuable hands-on experience by completing a real-world renovation project on campus. The class worked together on the Administration Door Renovation Project, where they removed 10 doors, sanded and repainted them, reconstructed door jambs, and installed new weather stripping before rehanging each door.

The project gave students the opportunity to apply the skills they learned in class while gaining practical experience in construction and renovation work. Rehanging and properly installing doors can be a challenging task, making this project an important learning experience for the entire cohort.

We congratulate this graduating SEED class on their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.
