Our Selma Service Center recently hosted an Open House and Long Sleeve Shirt Distribution event at its office, with support from representatives from our Sanger office.
The event marked the first of several planned long-sleeve shirt distributions that will be hosted at 9i offices throughout the service area.
The distribution effort followed 9i’ recent participation in the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs National Long Sleeve Drive, an initiative focused on providing farmworkers with clothing that helps protect them while working in the fields. Long-sleeve shirts are especially important for agricultural workers, helping shield them from prolonged sun exposure and reducing contact with pesticides.
The Selma event served more than 53 participants, with over 107 long-sleeve shirts distributed to community members in attendance. Guests also enjoyed a taquiza, participated in raffles, and connected with local organizations that shared valuable educational and workforce resources.
We would like to thank Workforce Connection, Selma Adult School, Apache Truck Driving School, and Kingsburg Dental Assisting for participating in the event and supporting our community.
