The William M. Maguy School of Education recently welcomed representatives from the Central California Asthma Collaborative for a tour of the campus and Energy Pods, marking the beginning of a new partnership aimed at expanding educational opportunities for students from Kern County.
Through this collaboration, the Central California Asthma Collaborative began referring students from Kern County to enroll in 9i’ SEED program. The partnership also helps provide supportive services that assist students while attending training, including resources such as gas stipends and other support designed to reduce barriers to participation and successful program completion.
During the visit, Director of Education Noah Arzola led guests on a campus tour, while SEED Instructor Jubenal Sierra provided an overview of the Energy Pods and hands-on training opportunities available through the Energy Division. Visitors also had the opportunity to hear directly from students, who shared presentations about their classroom experiences and the skills they gained through the program.
The partnership represents an important step in expanding access to workforce training opportunities for individuals and communities throughout the region while helping connect more students to the education and supportive services needed to succeed.
